MULTIVAC
The MULTIVAC product portfolio comprises a wide range of packaging technologies, labelling and marking equipment, quality inspection systems and automation solutions. Our product range is completed with equipment upstream of the packaging machine in the areas of slicing, portioning and dough forming. Thanks to our comprehensive expertise in line systems, we are able to integrate all the modules into one end-to-end solution, ensuring optimal efficiency, operating security and process reliability are achieved.
We can also call on a wide range of ancillary components, with which the handling of products and packs throughout the entire packaging process can be automated very cost-effectively. In addition to handling modules, this also includes equipment from belt solutions right up to palletising units for secondary packaging, and these incorporate the following functions.
MULTIVAC offers precise and hygienic loading solutions for solid, sliced, or minced products, granulates, powders, as well as for soft, pasty, and liquid products. They are available as part of an automated packaging line or can be integrated into existing equipment.

MULTIVAC offers a wide range of solutions for discharging packs from packaging machines and for transporting them to downstream processes. The modules for transport, channelizing and orientation of the packs ensure an efficient and continuos product flow. The discharge of reject packs can be integrated into every part of the process.

as belt conveyors or modular chain conveyors
Thanks to their high degree of flexibility in feeding and discharging, outer packaging solutions from MULTIVAC are suitable for virtually every production line. Our flexible top loading and side loading solutions can erect, load and close a wide range of case styles and formats - from small display boxes to large transport boxes. Product infeed can be tailored to different customer requirements: Inline, 90° or double infeed, and the products can lie at the side or on the edge. Also, many different closing options are available, from external closing to integrated taping and hot melt systems. The products can be packed into regular slotted containers (RSC) and shelf ready packs (SRP). MULTIVAC case packing solutions can be installed as a part of an automated packaging line or can be integrated into existing equipment.

Robot-based palletising solutions offer maximum flexibility, reliability and cost efficiency. MULTIVAC‘s wide product range enables the modular equipment to be perfectly adapted to the requirements of the customer as regards different products, capacities, footprint and linked processes. MULTIVAC palletising solutions can operate with the widest range of plastic and cardboard boxes, both as single items and stacks, and also individual and pre-grouped packs, as well as a large range of pallet sizes. The software also enables operators who are not specially trained to produce a wide variety of palletising patterns.
MULTIVAC‘s palletising systems can be installed as part of an automated packaging line or integrated into existing equipment.
The use of higher-level line control for the individual modules within the line makes a significant contribution to efficient line operation. This results in a much higher level of availability throughout the whole line, and it also minimises operating errors as well as providing the greatest possible overall equipment effectiveness.
MULTIVAC Line Control offers a standard solution, which essentially comprises a start/stop function throughout the entire line and central recipe management for very efficient product changes, as well as a complete overview of the line status. This enables faults in the line to be localised and eliminated quickly. Thanks to the provision of all the relevant process data, MULTIVAC Line Control is also the ideal basis for optional digital services such as OEE Analysis. Its modular design means MULTIVAC Line Control can also be upgraded to provide a variety of additional functions, so the individual requirements of our customers can be met.
The central HMI 3 user interface ensures maximum operating security and convenience. All the stages throughout the packaging process are clearly and transparently depicted and can easily be tracked. All important information is available to the user at a glance.

A largely automated packaging procedure increases process reliability, raises efficiency and guarantees optimum product protection. But when is it sensible to automate the packaging procedure? And what are the approaches to this?
Packaging procedures with a high degree of complexity are often used to produce combi packs for pharmaceutical products. Infeed systems, which have to be tailored precisely to the particular components, and also integrated into the packaging line, are required for the automated infeed and loading of the various product…
